Mazda Raceway

Heralded as one of the most challenging and beautiful tracks in the United States, the 2.238-mile Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is located just on the outskirts of Monterey, roughly 15 minutes away from Carmel-by-the-Sea. The raceway, being among the few in the country that welcomes both MotoGP and Superbike races along with Formula 1, is home to many world class events including the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series and Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix.

Being the Mecca for motorcycle fans, The Red Bull Grand Prix boasts the highest spectator attendance of any race held at Mazda Raceway with 120,000 spectators, and even features the MotoGP World Championship. MotoGP is considered to be the Formula 1 of two-wheel racing, and only the finest in the world are allowed to compete. The Red Bull Grand Prix is also the only MotoGP race in the world where fans are actually able to meet engineers and riders. Due to this unparalleled level of interaction, fans from as far as Asia, Europe and Australia fly in to attend the event.

While not being used for major events, the raceway is available to be rented. Throughout the year, many car clubs rent out the track and hold regional races. The raceway was also used to test the prototype Nissan GT-R in 2007, and has even been featured in several video games including Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo.
