Concours d'Elegance

Since 1950, Pebble Beach has been host to what is considered to be the finest exhibition of show cars in the world. Held annually in August on the 18th Fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Links, the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is a meeting of rare and antique automobiles, international automotive superstars, and motorcar devotees from around the globe.

The Concours d'Elegance differs from any motor-themed event. It is not a contest of speed, but of elegance. Automobiles and motorcycles are judged based on their mechanical design, historical significance, and style. The competition is steep, and only the finest vehicles are chosen as recipients of rewards. Television personality Jay Leno said it best, “The Pebble Beach Concours is the best. It’s the one that can give a car a pedigree. God forbid I should ever have to sell one of my cars, but winning your class, or even coming in second or third there, gives your car a pedigree that no other show can approach."

The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance features both classic and modern cars including concept designs. Primarily classic cars are showcased, although many modern cars are showcased and auctioned. The latest concept designs from manufacturers such as Mercedes, Bugatti, Lamborghini, and Ferrari are also present.
